A Project Process needs to be Documented

A project process needs to be documented so the project team can follow the correct path to achieve the process’s goals. In a project, the different processes that outline the required task that needed to be accomplished are the instructions to the project team. Without this document, the project team would have to rely on only verbal commands from the project manager in order to do their assigned tasks.

This documentation of each project process must be completed before the project moves onto the execution phase of the project’s lifecycle. Involved in most projects are 11 different processes in which have the need to be documented. This task of documentation generally falls on the shoulders of the project manager.

To complete the documentation of each project process in a timely manner, most project managers make use of the project management tools that are generally at their disposal. The one that makes the greatest contribution at this point in a project are the project management templates.

The use of the project management templates when documenting a project process contributes to the level of detail that will be included in the finished document. The better templates are designed after the most successful path each process is currently following in the global business world.

Included with each of the project management templates in most programs will be at many project process samples. This is a great reference source for the project manager to have on hand if and when a question arises about what should go into a block in the template for a process.

The references are not the only helpful things included with the templates to help the project manager document a project process, there are also step by step instructions so the reasoning can be clearly defined by just what should in be placed where in the template so the process can be approved.

The documentation of a project process is not always an easy task to complete. Luckily for the project manager, the templates make a significant contribution to the speed in which this task is competed while ensuring all of the data is present.
