A Sample Feasibility Study

Using a sample feasibility study as a guide in the creation of a properly structured report is one very good way of completing this assigned task. What should be remembered is that its quality as a guide is only as good as the content it begins with, and how it was originally created.

Not every sample feasibility study was created equal. Many of them were started from scratch. When the person doing this is very knowledgeable on the subject matter, this can be a very good example. On the flip side, if the creator of the document is not very knowledgeable, then crucial components could be left out.

A sample feasibility study should contain many things. First, and foremost, is an approved idea that the stakeholders are willing to financially back. Once this is secure, the investigation process can commence. The information that needs to be located can vary from project to project. Most have a few commonalities that include the proper identification of the target audience, and how well received the deliverable are to this target audience.

A sample feasibility study can show how to locate the right target audience. This will be very helpful as a guide, but only as a guide. It is very rare that the same target audience for one deliverable will be the same as for another deliverable, even if the products are similar. It’s the mechanism that is used to locate the target audience is what should be copied, not the audience itself.

A good sample feasibility study will also show how there should be more than just one target audience that was the focus of the study. The narrower the focus, the less information the report will contain. For this reason, many different demographic groups should be surveyed and the results reposted. You never want the reviewer to have any questions when they are reading the report.

For many, the sample feasibility study starts with a template program that can also be used as a guide. The more input you have at the beginning, the better the end result will be.
