Tell me about the Project Initiation Phase.


This is the first phase in the project. It is the phase in which the project is defined at an overall level. It describes the delivery of the project and sets out how the project will be constructed. Basically the first step in the project management process is the definition of the business plan, then the feasibility study is completed in-order to determine if the solution that is proposed in the business plan can feasibly be achieved. Afterwards the project charter is created which describes the scope of the project, and then a high level plan for the project delivery is created. Overall the first step in the project management methodology is the project initiation phase.
